Information for Students
Background
In the summer of 2017 the University began transitioning to a new managed print arrangement that fielded new cutting edge Xerox multi-function printers. All new print devices provide a full suite of capability including color and black and white printing, copying, and scan to email. By the end of the 2018 school year, all printers across the University will be part of this program.

Costs
Pricing for prints on ALL UIW owned Xerox devices will be charged on a per page basis as outlined below:

Note: The default settings for all printers are black and white and double sided. These settings can be changed when printing through printer properties.
Adding Money to Your Student Account

Student Email
Your UIW email account is powered by Microsoft's Office 365. It has all the features of Microsoft Outlook on the web, including calendar, contacts, and 100 Gigabytes (GB) of storage! UIW Email is the official form of electronic communication between UIW and you – plan on checking it often.

Emergency Notification System
UIW utilizes Rave Alert for its emergency notification system. For more information on Rave, log in to Cardinal Apps and select the "Rave Alert" button from the launchpad.

UIW Engage
UIW Engage is UIW's student organization system. Students may join organizations or view upcoming campus events through the use of this system. UIW Engage may be accessed via Cardinal Apps or the University Events and Student Programs web page.
Learning
Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) – UIW’s LMS, called Blackboard, provides you with access to course syllabi as well as other features faculty may choose to include, such as assignments, discussion boards, online quizzes, video lecture capture, etc.
Registration and Grades
Bannerweb - UIW's student information system, called Bannerweb, allows you to register for classes online, check grades, view the course catalog, etc.
Student Portal
Your employee portal, called Cardinal Apps, provides single sign-on access to many tech tools (e.g., UIW Mail, Blackboard, BannerWeb, etc.).
Campus Wireless Network
Students have access to wireless internet connectivity across the entire campus. In classrooms, the library, and indoor/outdoor gathering spaces, most students will want to select the uiw-connect network connection.

Residence Network
Students living on-campus will want to connect to the uiw-students network for laptops and phones when they are in their residence halls or apartments. All other devices will need to be connected to the uiw-resnet-limited network.

Every undergraduate is expected to come to school with a laptop computer. UIW's bookstore carries a large selection of laptop models. Purchases can be made online or in the bookstore.
Financial Aid (if available) can be applied towards to purchase of a computer. See uiwshop.com for details.
