Graduate Studies & Learning Assessment Librarian
UIW’s Graduate Studies & Learning Assessment Librarian is primarily available to work with graduate students to develop their information literacy and research skills. Group or one-on-one consultations are available. The GSLA Librarian can help with developing and refining topics, research strategies, and evaluating resources in alignment with research objectives. The GSLA Librarian also has experience in developing assessments utilizing research metrics and can point graduate students toward tools and methodologies for their own research purposes.

Graduate Computer Rooms
Library 103 and 105
Library 103 and Library 105 are specialized computer labs for silent use by individual graduate, professional or doctoral students doing writing and research. Each room has four computers. Users should expect to share the room with others who are trying to work. Students are expected to be considerate of others, and this includes not bringing friends or family into these rooms. These are not collaborative work spaces. Students working on collaborative projects need to check out a group study room rather than 103 or 105.
Faculty may also use Library 105 for individual writing and research with the same stipulations of use in order to support the primary objective of the space as a quiet space for individual work.
No food or drink is allowed in these rooms.
Doctoral Room
Library 233 is for quiet, individual writing and research by doctoral candidates. Like Library 103 and Library 105, students are not allowed to bring others into the room. Library 233 has three computers and so may be occupied by more than one student.

Keys to Library 103, 105, or 233 may be borrowed at the Circulation Desk. Rooms are available for four (4) hours. If no one is waiting, keys may be renewed. These rooms may not be reserved in advance but rather are available on a first come, first served basis.
Dissertation and Thesis Binding
The university no longer requires masters or doctoral students to supply a copy of their thesis or dissertation to the library. The library will continue to facilitate binding for students wishing to have copies of their thesis or dissertation bound for personal use. Cost for binding is approximately $15-$20 for each copy. Payment must be made at the Business Office before copies are dropped off to be bound using the Dissertation/Thesis Binding Order Form.
After they are shipped to the bindery, turnaround time is usually four weeks. If the owner cannot pick up bound copies the student may designate someone else to pick them up.
Dissertations/theses may be dropped off in the Technical Services Offices behind the Reference Desk - Monday through Friday 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Please call 210-829-6095 for more information.
