Living and Learning Communities LLC

What are Living and Learning Communities?

Living and Learning Communities (LLCs) are theme housing generally centered on a topic or major. Students who are part of the LLC typically have a common course and participate in programming more relevant to the community. Not only do students have an opportunity to work collaboratively with other like-minded peers, they also are able to utilize different resources not commonly found in our traditional residential facilities.

What is Part of a Living and Learning Community?

Living and Learning Communities come in a variety of different styles. At the University of the Incarnate Word, our LLCs are designed to incorporate the following elements in order to enhance the residential experience and academic success of our students:

  • In-hall tutoring
  • RA in major or experience
  • Dedicated study rooms
  • Programming/events related to major
  • Community service project
  • Faculty dinners in the hall

There are no additional costs or fees to participate in a LLC. All costs are included in the room and board associated with living on campus.
