About me:
Hi, my name is Brianna Machado and I am a nursing major at UIW. I am a first-generation college student and I will be a junior this coming fall, entering my first level of the Nursing Program. My goal is to continue my education after earning my BSN and pursue a career as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
Aside from being in the Honors Program, I am an active member in the Marching Cardinals as a clarinet player. I will also be a Resident Assistant (RA) this coming school year in the Hillside Residence Hall. I am involved in different societies on campus such as the National Society for Leadership and Success (NSLS) and the Golden Key International Honour Society (GKIHS). I currently serve as Vice President for UIW’s Golden Key International Honour Society chapter. I am also involved in the TRIO Program on campus as a peer mentor. Outside of school, I engage in several community service projects and volunteer at various organizations.
In my free time, I enjoy long distance running, watching movies, and listening to music. My favorite movie genres would have to be science-fiction, crime, and mystery. My favorite music genre is indie rock, with my favorite bands being Two Door Cinema Club and Imagine Dragons.
I am truly excited and cannot wait to begin my mentorship in the Honors Program. I want to make our incoming freshmen feel comfortable, develop friendships, and take advantage of all the opportunities the Honors Program and UIW have to offer. The Honors Program is a great way to make connections and put yourself out there, and that is what I love so much about the program. I do not think I would be where I am today if I had not joined the Honors Program, and I hope everyone takes advantage of this amazing opportunity!
