All registered students and UIW employees may register their vehicle and order parking permits online through Cardinal Cars (found in your Cardinal Apps portal). Once your vehicle is registered, a parking decal will be available for pickup in the Business Office. You may register multiple vehicles under the same account, but only ONE decal is allowed per student/employee. Parking decals are removable, and must be transferred and displayed on the vehicle that is on campus.

Collaborative learning is an important tool in the classroom that leads to engagement, stronger mastery of the material, and critical thinking. Students working together to understand concepts is both a fun and effective addition to traditional classroom lectures. Collaborative learning activities can be sprinkled into lectures . GradesFirst is a web-based student performance monitoring system that provides automated student services and communication between faculty, academic advisors, student support staff, and students. The program allows for monitoring of class attendance.

GradesFirst Early Alert pinpoints at-risk students early in the term to allow for intervention when students need it most. UIW heavily utilizes this system in our 1000 and 2000 courses when students are still developing. Timely and effective communications allows UIW the opportunity to increase student success and retention.

Assist undergraduate students with writing across disciplines and course content tutoring for a range of disciplines students frequently find challenging. In addition to individual and small-group tutoring, they also offer workshops and embedded tutoring, including in-class writing support.

Please monitor your UIW email and look for a message from the UIW Registrar towards the end of the semester that provides detailed instructions on how to input final grades.

See GradesFirst link in your UIW Cardinal Apps page to access attendance reporting. This is where you enter daily course attendance which is required for 1000 and 2000 level courses.

UIW requires each faculty member to create their own attendance policy which should be clearly stated in your course syllabus. (Occasionally UIW will send out a policy or update regarding school attendance policies. Please monitor your UIW email and speak with your department regarding attendance practices.)

At UIW faculty do not initiate student course drops. If a student wishes to be dropped, the student will come to faculty with a form. Please communicate with the student to make sure they understand there are implications on financial aid when a drop is processed. Please send the student to the financial aid office if there are any questions or confusion.
