Tutoring

To request an appointment, please call (210) 829-3870 or stop by our office in the Student Engagement Center in room 3167. You may also e-mail tutoringservices@uiwtx.edu to schedule an appointment. If you e-mail for an appointment, please include the course and any days and times that will work for you. So that we may make the best use of the tutoring session, please come prepared with notes, texts, and questions (the more specific, the better).

We offer tutoring sessions for courses many students find challenging, including accounting, business statistics, social sciences, music, Spanish, chemistry, physics, and biology. We also provide academic success coaching to guide you in developing the study skills and time management strategies that will help you achieve your goal of graduation.

If you need to cancel an appointment, we ask that you give us at least 2 hours' notice so that we may accommodate waiting students. Also, please inform us if you're running late. If we haven't heard from you within 15 minutes of your session start time, we may open the session to other students. Sessions canceled or rescheduled without 2 hours' notice will be counted as a no-show. After 5 no-shows (including sessions with the Writing and Learning Center), you will not be able to make appointments for the remainder of the semester. You will be able to participate in drop-in tutoring as available.
