Procedure for Contacting University Resources and Accessing Campus

All initial communication MUST be directed to the Office of Communications and Marketing. This guide is to help you identify experts for your needs. The Office of Communications and Brand Marketing will facilitate contact with these resources.

It is imperative that all members of the news media interested in attending events, capturing images on campus or arranging interviews contact the Office of Communications and Brand Marketing at 210.829.6001 or pr@uiwtx.edu prior to contacting resources or arriving on campus.

Though a private institution, UIW provides the news media reasonable access to campus. However, the University may regulate media access in order not to disrupt teaching or research, to protect the health and safety of students and staff, to protect the privacy of students and others who reside on campus, and to comply with state and federal laws on student and personnel data.

These guidelines pertain to media access to property owned or controlled by UIW; these pertain to any individual or group conducting interviews, making audio or video recordings, or taking photographs for dissemination to the public via commercial or non-commercial news and information outlets, including the internet.
